Founder, Director & Teacher
Evergreen Dance Studio was founded by Catherine Watkins, a lifelong dancer, educator, and passionate advocate for dance as a tool for confidence, expression, and growth.
Catherine began dancing at the age of 8 and has spent more than two decades immersed in the world of dance as both a student, performer, and teacher. Her journey has taken her from early training through to high-level performance opportunities across the stage.
She has performed for major sporting organisations, including the SANFL and WNBL, developing a strong foundation in commercial and live performance work. Catherine has also performed internationally in China, as well as locally at events such as the Adelaide Fringe Festival, gaining a diverse range of professional experience.
Catherine has a passion for teaching dance, dedicating her time to working with both children and advanced-level dancers. She is committed to helping students build strong technical foundations while also nurturing confidence, creativity, and a genuine love of movement.
Catherine also holds a Bachelor of Education and works as a primary school teacher, bringing a wealth of knowledge and understanding of child development, learning styles, and positive classroom culture into her dance teaching practice. This educational background is central to the supportive and structured environment at Evergreen Dance Studio.
As a mother of two, Catherine shares her family’s love of dance every day. This personal connection across generations is at the heart of Evergreen’s philosophy - creating a studio where children, teens, and adults alike feel welcome, supported, and inspired to grow.

Teacher
Charli began dancing at just two years of age at her mum's dance studio and has loved performing ever since. Over the past 14 years, she has trained in a wide range of styles, including tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, contemporary, and calisthenics. For 12 of those years, she competed in solos, duos, and troupes, gaining extensive performance experience. Charli has also represented at both state and national levels in calisthenics and dance, competing across Australia.
Lyrical is Charli's favourite style, as she loves the opportunity to tell a story through movement and connect emotionally with the music. She especially enjoys dancing to songs by Adele, whose music allows her to express emotion and bring performances to life.
Outside the studio, Charli is currently studying a Bachelor of Primary Education. She is passionate about working with children and loves helping young dancers grow in both confidence and skill. In her spare time, you'll find her at the gym, curled up with a good book, or spending time with her friends, family, and her two much-loved puppies, Willow and Lexi.
